For more than 40 years, the Community Action Organization of Erie County, Inc., has helped low-income people and working poor families gain access to opportunities, resources, education and training, and a wide range of programs and services.

We were funded with a federal grant through the Office of Economic Opportunity to develop community organizations through which disenfranchised people could work toward positive change. Throughout the years, we have expanded our programs and services to become a comprehensive community services agency.

Each year  we help more than 21,000 individuals
and 9,000 families gain access to programs or
services that might otherwise have not been
available.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who has ever contributed to the CAO's mission by lifting a box, distributing food, organizing communities, teaching a child, raising funds, driving a senior to the polls ... and the list goes on. There are no small or unimportant activities.

Volunteers are our lifeline. They selflessly do so much for so little, expecting no recognition and no reward. That's why it is so important to say "Thank you" to all.
